Leg Two: I left San Miguel de Allende on September 17th and am headed north through Nuevo León, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Sonora, then turning south again through Sinaloa and Nayarit before pointing the motorcycle home.
No Copper Canyon. No El Chepe.
What it is instead: Sierra Madre Oriental, desert-country Parras, the mining ghosts of Parral, the high sierra around Basaseachi, a westbound crossing toward Yécora, and then the Sea of Cortez — Puerto Libertad, Punta Chueca, Bahía de Kino, San Carlos, and the southern Sonoran coast. And this all might change depending upon weather, ass-dragging, and my parabolic moods (see ass-dragging):
