Leg Two left San Miguel de Allende on September 17th and headed north through Nuevo León, Coahuila, Chihuahua, and Sonora, then turned south again through Sinaloa and Nayarit before pointing the motorcycle home.
No Copper Canyon box-checking. No El Chepe. No long dirt roads merely to prove my continuing poor judgment. At least, that’s the plan but adventure has veto power.
What it is instead: Sierra Madre Oriental, desert-country Parras, the mining ghosts of Parral, the high sierra around Basaseachi, a westbound crossing toward Yécora, and then the Sea of Cortez — Puerto Libertad, Punta Chueca, Bahía de Kino, San Carlos, and the southern Sonoran coast. And this all might change depending upon weather, ass-dragging, and my parabolic moods (see ass-dragging):
